Material: Bound in bark cured with sap and sinew, its pages are living moss-pulp, veined with green-black tendrils. When closed, it hums faintly, like a hive beneath soil. When opened, it sighs. If read too long, roots begin to grow from your fingernails.

 

Origin:

 

Cultivated in secrecy by the Druid-Heretic Lysithea, who drank from the bleeding tree of Ichorvale and was transformed. She whispered to roots and vines, and they began to whisper back. When her forest became a cathedral of rot and teeth, she vanished into the canopy, now worshiped by plants that speak her name.

Chapter I: The Sprouting of Suffering

Plant this root under a bed. It drinks dreams and exudes whispers. The target becomes paranoid within a week.

Remove a tongue from a liar and bury it with a black lotus. In 7 days, a cursed thornbush grows, each thorn whispering truths the liar never told. If the bush is burned, the liar chokes on ash.

Stitch bark to your chest and bleed into soil soaked in betrayal. From the earth grows a single tree, which obeys you—but its fruit holds pieces of your guilt. Each bite stolen from it weakens you.

Curse a foe with spreading skin fungus that itches with every memory of cruelty. They will claw themselves raw in guilt.

Sit nude in a circle of corpse-cap mushrooms under full moonlight. Let the spores enter your lungs. For one day, you understand the language of all decaying things—but you age a year.

🌺 Chapter IV: Thorns of Protection and Predation

Subject: Weaponized plants, botanical armor, and offensive flora

Grow armor from your shoulders—thorns and vines. For every wound taken, the armor hardens, eventually turning to stone.

The Devourroot Lance

Throw a spear of twisting root that pierces flesh, then burrows. Must be removed quickly, or it roots in the spine.

Thorn Rite of the Greenfang Beast

Feed a wild animal poisoned berries, then sew your own blood into its fur. Bury it beneath your favorite tree. When it rots, a bark-covered beast grows from the soil—your bodyguard for a fortnight or until burned by holy fire.

🌳 Chapter V: The Blooming End — World as Garden, Death as Soil

Subject: Terraforming rituals, forest-wide curses, permanent transformations

The Verdant Collapse

Bring vines, roots, and flowers crashing through a city block. Buildings fall. Statues crack. Soil rules again.

💀 Ritual:

Seed of the Final Blossom

Crush a holy symbol, a child’s bone, and the blood of your mentor into a seed. Plant it at the heart of any ruined place. If left undisturbed for 33 days, the area will be consumed by a forest that only you may walk without pain.
